FAQ

What animals are available for adoption?

Primarily cats and kittens. Occasionally a dog is available.

How do I adopt a pet from S.O.L.A.S.?

Let us know which animal you are interested in, fill out an online application, and we will contact you to schedule a visit.

What are the donation fees and what do they cover?

Donation fees vary by animal and cover their spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, food, litter, and any other necessary medical care.

What if an adopted pet doesn’t work out?

First, we will assist you by providing guidance. If that does not work, we will always accept the pet back. However, we do NOT offer refunds. Exchanges of a pet of the same age range will be considered on case-by-case basis.

Can I volunteer with S.O.L.A.S.?

Absolutely! Volunteers are essential to our mission. We have volunteer opportunities for cat socialization, event assistance, fundraising coordination, and more. Find out how to get involved on our Volunteer page.

How can I donate to support this amazing cause?

Donations are greatly appreciated and help us care for the animals in our community.  S.O.L.A.S. would not survive without generous support from the public throughout each year. You can donate by online, by mail, or in person. Please visit our Donation page for more details.

Do you accept donations in the form of supplies?

Yes! We have a Chewy wishlist and an Amazon wishlist of important items that we always need, such as pet litter, pet food, and cleaning supplies.

How do you determine if a pet is the good fit for a home?

We always consider both the pet’s needs and the adopter’s lifestyle to ensure the best match. This involves asking questions about your home, activity level, and prior experience with pets.

Do you offer resources for pet care and training?

Yes, we provide resources for new pet owners, including tips on pet care, behavior, and training.

Do you accept non-S.O.L.A.S. adopted animal surrenders?

While we do our very best to assist everyone we can, due to current overcrowding and limited foster space, we are not able to accept nearly as many as we would like to. Please do feel free to contact us and we can provide whatever guidance we can.
