Mark your calendars, we are lining up some awesome cats for you to meet this Saturday at Petco on 72nd and Dodge. We will be there from 11-3 with several adoptable cats- including the gorgeous Dallas and her sister.
OCTOBER is “Adopt a Shelter Dog Month”. In honor of this occasion, each week a lucky dog will be selected for “Dog of the Week” and S.O.L.A.S. will donate $20.00 towards the adoption fee! Also, “Cat of the Week” will continue and S.O.L.A.S. will donate $20.00 towards the chosen cat! What a great time to come adopt your forever friend!
Come meet Smokey (#1410). He is a beautiful blue, 3 month old, Domestic Short Hair. He was surrendered to the shelter because his previous family was not able keep him. This boy is very playful, loves attention, and is ready to come home with you!
The snuggle bug George (#1422), is just waiting at the shelter for his forever home. He is a Domestic Short Hair, brown tabby, between 1 and 2 years old. He was founding wandering around Chapel Ridge all by his lonesome. Can he wander his way into your heart?
This poor little girl, named Four Wheeler (#1421) was found abandoned in a home and some good Samaritans called the shelter to have her rescued. She is a white and black, Domestic Short Hair, about 7 months old. Will you give her the home that she deserves?
Finnigan (#1107) has been waiting for you to come and adopt him! He is a 5 year old, red and white Husky with big blue eyes. He was found cruising the 2500 block of South 16th Street. He loves to take walks and he is a perfect gentleman on the leash.
Are you looking for a senior sweetie? Come meet with Molly (#1300). She is a 10+ year old, tricolor, Beagle. She would love a friend to spend her golden years with. She was found strolling around the area of 27th Street and Avenue I. She likes short walks, fuzzy blankets, and she loves hot dogs! Yummy!
Who could resist the face of Hank (#1433)? He is a tan and white Mastiff mix, about 4 years old. Talk about a gentle giant. This guy takes a few minutes to warm up but then becomes the biggest teddy bear! He was found adventuring in the area of 25th Street and Pavich, wearing a dark color collar. If you are looking for your furry teddy bear, come adopt Hank!
Are you tired of those picnic and barbecue hot dogs? Donate your leftover hot dogs to the shelter! Hot dogs are great pill holders for giving sick dogs medication and also help some of the picky eaters regain their appetite. Such a simple thing can turn a sad dog into a happy one! Please take all donations to the Council Bluffs Animal Shelter at 2821 South 15th Street.
Hey Husker fans!! Shouldn’t all Husker fans have a dog named Husker? Well, we have one waiting down at the shelter for you. He is just over a year old and is a shepherd/husky mix(no 1023). He is black and tan in color but has short smooth hair that doesn’t need a whole lot of care. He came in because he was loose. His owners failed to claim him and he is now up for adoption. Surely if you are a die hard fan, you will come and snatch this guy up!
Murphy (no 1098) turned himself into the fire station on north broadway this week after a joyous romp. We were called to pick him up and he was very matted and covered in burrs. Our officer trimmed him up a bit and he is ready to go to a new home. He is a 10 month old Lhasa Apso mix who is mostly cream colored with some darker gray ears and tail. He also has a doppleganger at the shelter by the name of “Hulk” you might want to check out too! Keep in mind Lhasa’s require lots of grooming.
A border collie (no 1067) was abandoned outside the shelter last Friday morning. He is a 2 year old male with a black and white coat that appears to have been shaved a while ago. Nobody claimed this sweet guy so he is available for adoption. He is very scared in his cage but warms up wonderfully when taken outside. These dogs are energetic so bring a toy and come play!
Tibor (no 2559) has graduated from Vatterott college and has been in our program since DECEMBER! That is far too long for a kitty to be in a cage. She is 1 year old dilute tortoiseshell female cat who is very social and loving. The students fell in love with her but unfortunately couldn’t find her a home. She is back and ready for adoption after being spayed and given current shots.
Moon (no 782) is a longhaired female dark tortoiseshell cat. She has been here since the beginning of August and is about 2 years old. She was found as a stray in a council bluffs apartment complex and was never claimed. She has been a very sweet and mellow cat here and is waiting her forever home.
Tabitha (no 1148) is a 4 month old brown and gray tabby shorthaired kitten that came in as a stray. She has the biggest eyes but is definitely the diamond in the rough here at the shelter. She looks kinda plain but is seriously the sweetest kitten ever. She starts purring the moment you pick her up and she loves to be petted. You will never regret taking this precious little girl home! She is available for adoption Saturday September 11th at 1pm.
