Cat of the Month

June 2017

***June Special*** As our June Cat of the Month, Bonnie’s adoption donation is reduced to just $35!

Friendly 3 yr old

Bonnie is a sweet, friendly 3 year old who could use a diet! She likes to be petted and doesn’t mind dogs. She gets along okay with other cats that realize she needs her personal space. She sleeps on the foot of the bed of her foster parents. Bonnie has a funny habit- she loves to drink fresh water out of the bathroom faucet!

All SOLAS cats are spayed/neutered, current on worming and shots – including rabies vaccination if old enough. Feluk/fiv tested negative and micro chipped. Her adoption donation is $80.

For more info on Bonnie or to meet her, call/text her foster mom Lora at 402-250-7105 or email

It’s the beginning of June and we have already exceeded our average peak number of cats in foster care that normally happens in July and August!!
If you’ve ever considered fostering cats or kittens, NOW is the “purrfect” time! All you need is space, time and love to give – we provide the rest!
The most common reason that we hear that people don’t foster is that they will want to keep all the cats that come into their homes and hearts. While we do love every cat, we also find the rewards of watching a kitten grow or find their “purrmanent” loving home overpowers the sadness. The foster care and  the good bye areboth worth it!  Just ask us – we’d love to tell you about all of our success stories!  Please visit our website at for more information on how our foster care program works.

New kittens today!

Mama Cleo kitty was brought to Midlands a month ago, pregnant and alone. This morning she had four healthy kittens, two black and two white. You can see a little foot off to the side and that is actually one of two small orphans she took in earlier this week. She was able to feed them a little bit before she had her babies and they were supplemented with bottles. Now they should be able to nurse 100% of the time. She happily took in the two babies and now her number of children has tripled. We love when mama kitties take in babies who desperately need them! We appreciate any donations you feel led to offer for the care of these 7 that they will need over the next 3 months.
